🎛️ Configuration
The Configuration View is the recommended first stop after installation.
It lets you define how DrumBuddy interprets input — either from a MIDI drum kit or your computer keyboard.
To set it, simply navigate to the settings tab, where you can change metronome volume, set light/dark theme, toggle keyboard/MIDI input type, and in case of the latter, you can re trigger the choosing process of your MIDI device.
MIDI Mapping
Each electronic drum kit may have different MIDI note values.
DrumBuddy allows you to:
- Assign incoming MIDI notes to specific drum parts (kick, snare, hi-hat, etc.)
- Test your mappings directly after assigning them
Simply press the map button for a drum, and the app starts listening for an input, mapping the first one to the drum
A red circle indicates a drum with no mapping, and when playing a mapped MIDI input, a green circle starts flashing indicating which drum the input is mapped to.
Keyboard Input
If you don’t have a drum kit connected, you can simulate input using your keyboard.
The following keys are accepted:
Q, W, E, R A, S, D, F Y, X, C
